ActiveCollab 8.0: Upcoming Early Access Program

ActiveCollab 8.0: Upcoming Early Access Program

Hello everyone,

We’re finally back from our holiday break and ready to deliver some great news on what we’ve been up to and what’s planned for the upcoming months! In our previous recap, we talked about the storage indicator in the Project Info and the time indicators that will be visible in the Grid view once ActiveCollab 8.0 is released. This time, we’ll discuss only the development of the new version and the Early Access Program.

ActiveCollab 8.0: Early Access Program

During these two months, we’ve been creating a way to let people use both the current and the new version of ActiveCollab simultaneously. So far, our teams have been testing the new features this way, but now it’s time to expand this circle of early testers to some selected users.

The best part of this system is that all your changes are synchronized. For example, if you edit a task in version 8.0, the modifications will appear in the current version and vice versa.

All the new features are not finished yet, but that doesn’t mean you can’t keep using ActiveCollab fully. Visible indicators will show which features aren’t completed and take you to the current ActiveCollab version in a new browser tab. This way, you’ll be able to keep using all the possibilities the app offers seamlessly.

As time goes by and ActiveCollab 8.0 keeps developing, there will be less and less of a need to jump to the “old” system until the switch to version 8.0 is complete.

Uptime

ActiveCollab’s uptime in January and February was 99.97%. Let us know if you notice the app is slower than usual via email or reach out through our Twitter page! Our Support Team will also be happy to help out with any aspect of using ActiveCollab.

Coming Up

Our next mission is to make it easier to navigate tasks and to improve Discussions by introducing the ability to pin some topics to the top of the list.

We’re excited to open the doors of the Early Access Program to the first selected users and hear their feedback. We hope to open the discussion on ActiveCollab 8.0 and its development by the next recap!
