EU-Compliant eInvoices Now Available in ActiveCollab

eInvoicing is becoming mandatory for businesses registered and operating in the European Union. Germany, Romania, Belgium, Poland, and France have so far introduced eInvoicing regulations, requiring B2B invoices to be created and distributed in compliance with the EN 16931 standard.

Even if your agency isn’t based in any of the EU countries, you still need to follow the rules if you’re doing business with public authorities and organizations that are.

Don’t worry, though—if you’re using ActiveCollab for invoicing, you’re all good.

We recently introduced eInvoicing: the option for all agencies and other service businesses to issue eInvoices that are compliant with the EN 16931 standard.

Why Use eInvoicing in ActiveCollab?

We want to help you grow your business however we can. We’re always looking to make ActiveCollab better for you.

This is why we implemented the eInvoicing feature based on the EU standards, and made it available to you as soon as possible.

With ActiveCollab eInvoicing, you can now:

  • create EN 16931-compliant eInvoices in a couple of clicks,

  • ensure tax compliance,

  • simplify international exchanges, and

  • be more flexible in terms of B2B partnerships.

In addition to all of that ↑, the main reason why you should use eInvoicing in ActiveCollab is simple: all your business data, including job types and expenses, tracked hours, client information, tax rates, etc. → everything is [or can be] stored safely in ActiveCollab.

Why complicate things even more, right?

eInvoicing in ActiveCollab will save you both time and money, that’s for sure!

How to Create eInvoices in ActiveCollab?

Creating an eInvoice in ActiveCollab is pretty straightforward. While the term might sound intimidating, at its core, an eInvoice is ~just~ an electronic invoice issued in an XML format that is read and processed by software.

However, before you can even start considering the option, to be able to create eInvoices in ActiveCollab, you need to pay a visit to your System Settings → Invoice and Estimate Settings.

There, you need to:

  • enter your company address and VAT ID, which are necessary to create valid eInvoices, and

  • enable eInvoicing in your ActiveCollab workspace.

You can also choose whether you’d like your eInvoices to be included in client email notifications, together with the standard digital invoice, issued as a PDF file.

Note: We recommend that you download and verify the accuracy and compliance of your eInvoices with your Accounting team first. If they’re okay, then go ahead and send the eInvoices.
