Light, Dark, or Automatic
Give your eyes a break with two new dark themes. Turn on Match System Appearance, pick a light and a dark theme, and ActiveCollab switches between them to follow your system.
Better Control of Chat Conversations
Mark conversations as favorites to keep them permanently at the top of your list. Need a break from a busy thread? Mute it for an hour and it comes back on its own, no more forgetting to unmute.
Sign In with a Passkey
Add a passkey and unlock ActiveCollab the way you unlock your device, with your fingerprint or face. Works with any email address, and no separate app is required. Set it up on the Security page.
IP Firewall
Lock down who can reach your account. Allow only the IP addresses you trust, and block everything else from Security settings.
Limit MCP Tools
Choose which MCP tools AI agents can use. Enable only the actions you trust, and switch the rest off from Security settings.
Rebuilt Desktop Apps
Our fully rebuilt macOS and Windows desktop apps are here. Built with native OS tools instead of Electron, they’re much smaller and faster. Download them from the Mac App Store or Windows Store.
Sign In with Apple
Skip the password and sign in with your Apple ID. As long as it uses the same email address as your ActiveCollab account, you’re in.
Activity Heatmap
A GitHub-style heatmap of activity, right on My Work. Each square is a day, and its color shows the activity level. Spot streaks and stalls at a glance.
Completed Task Notifications
Know the instant a task is done. ActiveCollab now notifies the people following a task the moment it's completed, instead of waiting for the daily recap.
Multiple Assignees per Task
Assign several people to the same task, each with their own job type and time estimate, while the task keeps one full estimate. Bill every role correctly and see each person’s real workload.
New Invoice Column in Time Report
Track time, then see exactly where it was billed. Turn on Include invoices to link every record to its invoice and instantly spot what's still unbilled.
Link to a Comment
Each comment now has a link you can copy and share with your team. The same link also works with the MCP server, so an AI agent can pull up that exact comment.
Double-Click to Edit
Choose what double-clicking text does: open it for editing, or just select a word. ActiveCollab asks once, remembers your choice, and lets you change it anytime in Personal Settings.
Apps & Integrations for Members
Members can now open the Apps & Integrations page to connect AI tools and manage their own API tokens, within their role’s limits.
Timesheet, Capacity and Utilization
Timesheet has a new home. One screen for tracked time, team availability, and utilization, now with flexible time ranges.
Cost Summary Report Improvements
With new filtering and grouping options, you can analyze data by period (weekly, monthly, quarterly, yearly) and group it by job type or team member. This gives you a better overview of your internal costs and project expenses.
MCP Server
Securely connect your favorite AI to your ActiveCollab workspace and get things done faster. Ai can log hours, comment in your name, mark tasks as done, and more. It gets even better when you connect it to multiple tools!
Capacity and Utilization
See exactly how much time your team's got available and how much is spent on billable work, so you can plan ahead and allocate resources realistically. The color-coded Utilization report gives you accurate utilization rates, so you always know who's over, under or at capacity.

API Token Management
Go to Apps & Integrations to manage your API tokens. Generate new tokens in seconds, mark them as read-only for more security, and then all you need to do is click "copy" to start using them!

Create and send out client quotes / project estimates faster: you can disable automatic naming and the client address field. Save time when adding the address to either invoices or estimates: our AI will automatically convert the address to the new format.
