Moving and Copying Tasks to Projects

Moving and Copying Tasks to Projects

If you find a Task is not located in the right Project or you want the same Task in another Project as well, you can easily move it or copy it.

How to Move a Task in ActiveCollab?

  • Step 1: Click on the desired Project where the task is located.
  • Step 2: Click on the desired Task.
  • Step 3: Click on the “...” menu.
  • Step 4: Select the “Move/Copy to Project.”
  • Step 5: Select the desired project where you wish for this task to move.

Optional: You can select the “ Leave a copy of this task in this project” If you wish for a copy of the original task to stay in the original project.

Optional: You can select the “Continue working on the current project” if you wish to stay in your current project and continue working there. If you don’t select this option, you’ll be moved to the new project once you click on “Move”

  • Step 6: Click on “Move” to confirm your choice.

Note: Moving a Task will move its comments with it as well. Copying will only create a brand new Task in another Project, while the original Task will remain with all its elements in the original Project. Moving the task between projects will disconnect it from all of its dependencies.
