Two-factor authentication (2FA) is an enhanced security measure to protect your account from unauthorized access. Once enabled, you'll be required to use an additional one-time verification code to log into ActiveCollab.
How to activate 2FA in ActiveCollab?
- Step 1: Log in to your user profile using the following link - https://activecollab.com/profile
- Step 2: Enter your email and password
- Step 3: Click on your profile name in the top-right corner of the screen
- Step 4: From the dropdown menu, click on the ‘’Security’’ button
- Step 5: Once in the Security page, click on ‘’Enable Two-Factor Authentication’’
- Step 6: On the ‘’Register ActiveCollab’’ page Download the free Google Authenticator app from the PlayStore and App Store
- Step 7: In the Google Authenticator app, tap the "+" button in the bottom right corner of the screen
- Step 8: Tap on the option: "Scan a QR code"
- Step 9: Point your camera at the QR code
- Step 10: After scanning in the Google Authenticator app, you will receive a notification: "Authenticator code saved"
- Step 11: Enter the code from the Google Authenticator app into the field and click on the option "Verify"
- Step 12: When you activate Two-Factor Authentication, download and save the backup codes by clicking on ‘’Download Verification Codes’’
- Step 13: After downloading the backup codes, click on ‘’Continue to Profile’’

How to download Backup Codes?
The Backup codes will help you log in case you lose access to your mobile device.
- Step 1: Log in to your user profile using the following link - https://activecollab.com/profile
- Step 2: Click on your profile name in the top-right corner of the screen
- Step 3: From the dropdown menu, click on the ‘’Security’’ button"
- Step 4: Once in the Security page, click on ‘’View Backup Codes’’
- Step 5: In the Backup Verification Codes page, click on ‘’Download Verification Codes’’

How to disable 2FA in ActiveCollab?
- Step 1: Log in to your user profile using the following link - https://activecollab.com/profile
- Step 2: Click on your profile name in the top-right corner of the screen
- Step 3: From the dropdown menu, click on the ‘’Security’’ button
- Step 4: Once in the Security page, click on ‘’Disable Two-Factor Authentication’’
- Step 5: Confirm by clicking the ‘’Disable’’ button
