Since 2007, over 50,000 teams have relied on ActiveCollab as their go-to project management and collaboration tool. We’ve been helping them with all things workload management, capacity planning, project progress and time tracking, invoicing, and client communications.
By joining our team, you’ll work with people who value evidence, craft, and collaboration. We’re focused on building a product that is simple to use, yet powerful enough to support our users at every stage of their business.
The role
You’ll own the end-to-end customer journey by running a disciplined, cross-functional experimentation program. You’ll work with the team to speed up time-to-first-value, increase activation, and drive trial-to-paid conversions.
Key duties and responsibilities
As part of the Activation team, alongside two developers, improve the in-trial experience and the signup-to-upgrade flow.
Optimize the customer journey from inbound lead to upsell, with clear milestones and success metrics.
Turn user and usage insights into hypotheses; design and run experiments to improve sign-ups, onboarding completion, trial-to-paid conversions, and expansion from activated cohorts.
Partner with Product, Marketing, Sales, and Customer Success to align positioning, messaging, value moments, and success criteria.
With the support from other teams, optimize trial user conversion, including onboarding UX, in-app prompts, and lifecycle communications.
Conduct competitive analysis and product benchmarking to report on feature gaps, value propositions, and onboarding narratives.
Success metrics (we’ll work on this together)
Experiment velocity and learnings per sprint
User activation rate
Time-to-first-value
Onboarding completion rate
Trial-to-paid conversion rate
Cohort quality post-conversion (early retention, expansion)
What you’ll do week-to-week
Maintain a prioritized experimentation backlog; write user stories and acceptance criteria for developing new features; ship and learn in two-week sprints.
Track events and funnels, and ensure statistically sound decisions.
Coordinate with other teams to develop lifecycle/milestone communications for inbound leads, trial users, and customers, including custom landing pages, in-app checklists, tooltips, nudges, and email sequences.
Perform polls and client interviews to gain an understanding of the ICP personas’ JTBDs.
Perform horizon scanning, and update feature gap analysis against main competitors and category leaders.
Communicate weekly activation updates, and keep a transparent decision log; run a bi-weekly experiment review.
Your qualifications
2-3 years of experience in product marketing, product management or growth, focusing on activation and conversions
Fluent in product analytics, lifecycle tools, and experimentation platforms
Ability to view situations from different perspectives, understand our users’ needs and motivations in order to make better decisions and help build a better product
A quality-driven approach to work: you don’t accept mediocre results, you aim high, all the while keeping our users in mind
Sharp strategic and critical thinking skills, and ability to see the bigger picture, while also considering the details
Strong collaboration and communication skills, especially written: you’re respectful, honest, supportive, and resourceful
Comfortable working hands-on with engineers: following clear and concise specs
Bonus points: experience with B2B products or services
